Golfing in the boons.

Due to the fact that I live in Ratchaburi Province, I play the local courses.
When I read about golf in Thailand I see mostly the resort courses in Pattaya or Hua Hin,or the odd course in Bankok.
Just at the moment however one of the best courses in Thaland, in my opinion anyway would have to be Royal Ratchaburi. To play in the week, all up including the caddy, is only 750 Baht with no price difference between Thais of foreigners.
Royal Ratchaburi is about the best looking course in the area and the lay-out is challenging but fair to all levels of golfer.
Another good course for Tuesday and Thursday is Uniland in Nakorn Pathom. These two days are "sports days" and the green fee all up is 850 Baht.
I first played this course when it first opened up many years ago, and the way it is now compared to the way it was then is like chalk and cheese. I consider this course to be great value for money, and the facilities compliment the course. They are now first class, with everything you might need right there, and very clean and well maintained.
The only other course worth a mention, because I played it just last Saturday is Panurangsri in Ratchaburi. It's beautifully maintained and in great condition. The only snag being the us westerners have to pay more tan the locals on any given day. To play on a Saturday and Sunday wil set you back 1000 Baht with caddy. It gets a lot of locals on the weekends also, so go early.
If anyone needs more info about the local courss in this area feel free to ask. If your interested in a round some time, let me know. Enjoy your golf !!

Meeting Thaigolfer Friends

Up to now I can consider myself very lucky. I have met and played golf with 3 other members of the Thaigolfer community, one from within Thailand, and two from overseas. All have been great people, great to play golf with and equally as good to share a golf story with after the game.

First I met GGrass, then I met Mr. Barry Hewland from England then Mr. Michael from Denmark. We have all played together, mostly at Krisada and had a very enjoyable day doing so.

Tomorrow I get to m

Evergreen Is back !!

I have the extreme pleasure to announce that Evergreen Hills Golf Course in Kanchanaburi province is back and as good as ever.

Over the years that I've lived here in Ban Pong, Evergreen has been one of the courses that I have played many many times, but mostly in the past.

I had a game there in December of 2009, and swore I wouldn't go back because the greens were just so hard.

The ball just bounced and would not stop, like hitting up to a slab of concrete.

I playe

Thanks be to Kowin

Yet again our favourite webmaster has irradicated the pesky drug pushers.

Despite our best efforts, these people insist on contaminating our site with their adds for drugs.

I don't know how many people logged in to see the front page of Thaigolfer this morning, but the entire front page was drugs, drugs and more drugs. I seriously hate these people and that's why I ask Mr. Kowin to get rid of them.

Praise be to him, for his quick response.

Thanks Kowin.

Ball Swap Bank

A few weeks ago I saw a website from America where a guy was trying to swap some golf balls that he had purchased, and then thought they didn't suit his game.

He actually had lots of friends and fellow golfers who had the same experience, and for the most part they didn't want the balls that they had left.

Some weeks ago I bought a box of Bridgestone B330RX, hoping that they would be the golf ball of my dreams. As much as I "enjoy" them off the irons, I can't get them to

Golf not drugs !!

Over the last few days there seem to be people becoming members who are more concerned with peddling their drugs than contributing to the conversation and advancement of golf in Thailand.
I'm of the opinion that these people should be booted off.
Most Thai people that I know buy their medications at the local pharmacy when they are ill.

I can only hope that the inspired people who created the (our) Thaigolfer website agree with me and get rid of these pests.
